Our property is located on the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail at the second section called the "Ceilidh Coastal Trail". The scenic trail leads 92 km (57 mi) from the Canso Causeway to the Town of Inverness on the west coast of spectacular Cape Breton Island and is a great experience for bikers, hikers, runners, quadders and horse-back riders. An excellent attraction which is adjacent to the BEARDMANS, so you can literally start walking or hiking from your backyard.

At the small seaside community of Port Hood you will find miles of sandy beaches on the warmest waters in eastern Canada (20 min by car). There are the annual Chestico Days and Lobster Picnic festivals. The Port Hood Provincial Park has nice walkways over the dunes and a beautiful sandy beach as well. Don`t miss the sunsets at the West Mabou Beach, which is home for Kite Surfers and beach treasure hunter. The BEARDMANS is a great starting point for the famous Cabot Trail and the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The Cabot Trail is considered one of the world's most scenic destinations, with stunning ocean vistas, old-growth forests, prehistoric rock scarred by glaciers, and the mysterious Cape Breton Highlands. You can take a spectacular round-trip you will never forget easily in one day: starting at the Cabot Trail in Margaree Forks, which is around 1h 10 min by car from the BEARDMANS, followed by the magnificent Cape Breton Highlands National Park and after a day of one of the most amazing sceneries Canada's, heading back via the Englishtown ferry to the beautiful town of Baddeck. On your way back have a stop at the Red Shoe Pub and let the day sink away with live-music and a delicous meal. Life can be so good!
